My name is Warren, and I am a passionate runner, a UKA Running Coach and a qualified Sports & Exercise Nutritionist. I’m also the founder and chairman of our local running club “Run Free Fell Runners” based in Llangollen, North Wales.

Certified via UESCA as an Ultra Running Coach which includes everything from muscle physiology, nutrition, biomechanics and resistance training that is specific to being a successful runner

Over the years I have run on all terrains, competed in 5k races on the road to 24 hour endurances challenges in the mountains; now I am predominantly a fell and mountain runner. I’ve done the Paddy Buckley Round in 2019 and the Bob Graham Round in 2020; I’ve competed in some of the bigger races (a few results below) and lots of local fell races in and around Snowdonia & North Wales with a few wins here and there. I’m basically a running geek. I love every minute of it. If I’m not running I’m reading about it or listening to podcasts or chatting with clients. Sharing that love of the sport for me is so important.

Some of my road running PBs:

  • Conwy Half Marathon - 13th, 1.19.50 (2018)
  • Telford 10k - 35.31 (2015)

Warren, the UKA Running Coach

I became a qualified UKA Running Coach in 2015 and have worked alongside all sorts of athletes: I have coached a variety of people from beginners to much more experienced athletes; from road runners to fell runners and ultramarathon runners. I’ve got a lot of experience coaching at clubs in a 1-2-1 environment as the founder and head coach at my local fell running club but also as an online coach coaching remotely.

My aim is and will always be to help people to become a stronger more efficient runner improving on not only speed but also endurance.

Warren, the qualified Sports & Exercise Nutritionist (and vegan expert)

I am an advocate for nutrition in running and as a fully plant based runner this is something I’m passionate about. I spent a long time trying to master my own nutrition for training and performing in ultramarathons on the 24 hour challenges. I'd felt that I had learned a lot but the further I expanded my knowledge I realised that there was much to learn out there. If I was to support other people, I thought it’s best to look into actually learning the science behind it. So over a six month period I got myself a Diploma in Sports & Exercise Nutrition. Now that’s not a master in that field by any means but it gave me a really solid foundation in scientific knowledge of how nutrition works. Couple that with my own personal experiences it gives me a real understanding to help my clients.
