My name is Warren and I am the man behind Run Llangollen, a business that has developed and grown since starting in 2020 after starting my coaching journey in 2015, I've been a running coach for 10 years and whilst that was and will probably remain the main part of my business things have certainly developed over the years with journeys in multiple directions of learning to support that love of the outdoors and for sport.

Whilst I began my journey as a road runner, when I moved into trail running and then into Mountain and Ultra Running this was where the real passion began and I developed a love for the mountains and the freedom of running in beautiful places and sometimes for a very long time.

I then decided that such a fundamental part of my learning as an ultra runner was nutrition I thought it was a great idea to mix with my experience some of the science so decided to become qualified as a Sports & Exercise Nutritionist which has now become a staple part of the way I train and how I can advise my athletes that I work with.

Something I've learnt over and over as a runner is the importance of strength work and looking after the body, I've read and studied many books on movement and biomechanics so naturally I thought the next step was something like this a bolt on and I decided that becoming a sports therapist so over the space of 2 years between 2021 and 2023 I studied and passed my Level 3 and Level 4 as a Sports Massage Therapist.  This has become a really important part of my learning about anatomy and running and how they fit together and its something I'm still constantly learning about and is a journey I really enjoy.

Whilst the running is the numero uno for me in so many ways, the mountains is also a huge part of my life and for the past 5 years I've trained and become a Mountain Leader through the Mountain Training Awards Scheme and am working towards other learning goals like Winter Mountain Leader, Duke of Edinburgh Assessor and am also starting to get into climbing.  I've been leading as a runner in the mountains for many years and its something I have really enjoyed and becoming a Mountain Leader leading hikes and expeditions has become a really important part of my own training and for services I can deliver to my Athletes and also to the general public.

I now run many events across the UK now delivering Navigation Workshops, Guided Night Hikes, Sky Running Days and Mountain Skill days and I love what I do.

One of the things I really enjoy is seeing people out of their comfort zone whether that is running, hiking, scrambling or just entering events and pushing themselves past what they think they can achieve.  Whilst I have now stepped down I was the founder and Chairman of Run Free Fell Runners a running club based in Llangollen.

Competing at the UTMB Eiger Ultra Trail July 2023 - 50km - 46th Place & 4th Vet40

Over the years I have run on all terrains, competed in 5k races on the road to 24 hour endurances challenges in the mountains; now I am predominantly a fell and mountain runner. I’ve done the Paddy Buckley Round in 2019 and the Bob Graham Round in 2020; I’ve competed in some of the bigger races (a few results below) and lots of local fell races in and around Snowdonia & North Wales with a few wins here and there. I’m basically a running geek. I love every minute of it. If I’m not running I’m reading about it or listening to podcasts or chatting with clients. Sharing that love of the sport for me is so important.
