Snowdon Horseshoe Guided Hike
Guided Snowdon Horseshoe Hike
Want to take on the most Iconic route in Eryri the famous Snowdon Horseshoe taking in the Epic Grade1 Scramble up to Crib Goch and the around to Yr Wyddfa taking in Crib-y-Ddysgl and finishing with the Y Lliwedd East & West Peak before descending back down to Pen-Y-Pass
This is a fantastic opportunity to take on the technical route involving a Grade1 Scramble and technical terrain under the guidance of a Mountain Leader, this is a technical route but is a wonderful route to take on with amazing views in every direction.
Meeting Point – Pen Y Pass Car Park
Meeting Time – 7.30am for an 8am Start
Finish Time – Allow between 5-6 hours for this Hike – Approx Finish time 2pm
Delivered by myself a Qualified Mountain Leader, Fully Insured & Holder of REC2 First Aid Outdoors Certificate
Likely to be a group of no more than 6 people
We will depart from Pen-Y-Pass at 8am sharp starting up the very famous and busy Pyg Track before diverting onto the technical terrain to scramble upto Crib Goch and then we will be making our way across the famous ridge before taking in the other peaks on the route including Yr Wyddfa & Y Liwedd
We will have a brief stop on the summit of Yr Wyddfa where refreshments may be available but please don’t rely on this and have enough food and drink with you on the day
There will be plenty of stopping and hopefully with good weather a chance to stop and have a coffee and a snack on the summit.
You will be fully supported on the technical sections of the route, an area I am extremely experienced on and will be on hand to make it an unforgettable experience for everyone
Id expect this event to last between 4&6 hours depending on the speed of the group and the weather and how much we chat.
Kit Required
Full Mountain Kit to be carried, full water proofs, hat, gloves, food and drink and a good quality head torch is a necessity.
FAQ - Event Info
Parking
Parking is available at the start point here but has to be booked in advance, there are buses to this location from the local Park and Rides or you can access Pen-Y-Pass parking in Laybys towards Nant Peris or at the bottom of the pass and hiking up via a trail to Pen Y Pass
For more detailed info on parking please drop me a message
Toilets
There are public toilets at the Starting Point
Refreshments
There is a café at the start point where opening times can vary but will certainly be open when we finish
Fitness Level Required
The Event will not be fast at all, very social and steady hiking with lots of regrouping however we are summiting peaks around 1000m across some steep and uneven ground so a basic level of fitness is required, if you want to discuss this please feel free to drop me a line.
This is one of my more challenging routes so some experience of hiking would be preferred where your used to hiking for around 4-6 hours on steep terrain.
Can Dogs come along?
Whilst I totally get the joy of bringing the dogs along to the mountains, dog lover myself I need everyone to be totally focused on the event and I don’t want to be responsible for anything that may happen to someone’s beloved pet.
Feel free to contact me for bespoke guided days out where dogs would be welcome
Can I bring my Kids
All my guided hikes are currently for 18+ only sorry unless on a bespoke guided day where this option may be available.
